Deliver the right GHG saving. Not more.

Every PoS carries a fixed GHG saving tied to its source batch. When you sell fuel, you agree to deliver a specific level of GHG or carbon intensity improvement. FuelFWD ensures you allocate the batch that meets that agreed level precisely, so you do not give away premium sustainability value on trades that did not require it.

The gap

What the rule asks for vs. what spreadsheets deliver

What it requires

Why each trade requires precise GHG matching

Under certification scheme rules, each PoS is tied to the specific GHG saving of its source batch. When a trade is executed at an agreed GHG saving level, the allocated batch must meet that level. There is no compliance benefit to delivering more, but there is a direct commercial cost.

  • Each PoS carries the GHG saving of the specific batch it was issued against. That value cannot be changed or blended after the fact.
  • A batch with a 90% GHG saving satisfies a contract that required 75%, but the 15% difference has been given away with no additional compliance or commercial return.
  • In markets where CI or GHG savings carry a price premium, over-delivering to one counterpart means that value is no longer available for a higher-value trade or obligation.
  • Per-batch tracking is required to prove that the GHG value on each outgoing PoS matches the allocated batch, and that no batch has been allocated to more than one trade.
Why spreadsheets fail

How over-delivery happens without a system

  • Without batch-level GHG visibility at the point of allocation, teams assign whatever batch is available rather than the one that matches the contracted saving.
  • High-value batches with premium GHG savings are used on standard trades where a lower-saving batch would have satisfied the agreement.
  • There is no automated check between the GHG level agreed in the contract and the GHG value of the batch being allocated.
  • When multiple trades are running simultaneously, tracking which batches remain available at which GHG levels is not feasible in a spreadsheet.

How FuelFWD controls GHG delivery precision

Three capabilities that give traders full control over which GHG saving is delivered on each trade.

Batch selection matched to contracted GHG

FuelFWD shows available batches ranked by GHG saving against the contracted requirement. You select the batch that meets the specification without exceeding it, preserving premium inventory for trades that require it.

Continuous CI / GHG insights

See your entire inventory segmented by CI / GHG saving score before you trade. Know which PoS's carry premium CI / GHG values and which are suitable for standard obligations so every allocation is made on accurate data.

Contract vs. delivered GHG reconciliation

The system records the contracted GHG / CI score against the delivered level and alerts you if there are any discrepancies.

Questions about CI/GHG precision

A batch with a higher GHG saving than contracted satisfies the trade, but the surplus saving is given away with no compliance or commercial return. In markets where CI or GHG savings carry a price premium, this is a direct commercial loss on every affected transaction.
Yes. Default values are applied automatically for qualifying feedstock-pathway combinations. Actual values can be imported or entered directly, and each batch retains its own value through allocation and PoS issuance.
Yes. FuelFWD shows available batches alongside the contracted GHG requirement, ranked so you can select the closest match without over-delivering.
Automatically. The allocation logic reads the GHG value from the source batch and writes it to the outgoing document. No manual entry or recalculation is required.
Yes. Every allocation records the contracted level, the batch selected, and the GHG saving delivered. This creates a full per-trade audit trail for internal review and external reporting.
