For LNG Terminals & Capacity Holders

Bio-LNG terminal compliance, from biomethane PoS to delivery.

FuelFWD captures biomethane PoS at the terminal, applies your conversion logic and mass balance, and generates bio-LNG PoS for every outgoing delivery. Built for terminals running virtual or physical liquefaction and the capacity holders who use them.

Bio-LNG compliance lives between the biomethane PoS and the outgoing delivery. We close the gap.

Terminals running virtual or physical liquefaction face the same compliance challenge. Biomethane enters under one scheme, often with PoS arriving by email and validated manually. Bio-LNG goes out to capacity holders under another scheme, with each delivery needing its own scheme-correct PoS. The conversion math, the mass balance per capacity holder, and the document validation per incoming PoS are all done manually in most operations today. FuelFWD streamlines that entire flow. Incoming PoS are captured and validated automatically. Conversion logic applies your LHV factor and loss assumptions per delivery. Mass balance is tracked per capacity holder. Outgoing bio-LNG PoS are generated scheme-correctly for every delivery. The result: a manual workflow becomes an automated ledger, with full audit trail and faster turnaround per transaction.

What changes

From incoming biomethane PoS to outgoing bio-LNG, automated

  1. Biomethane to bio-LNG, accounted natively.

Every incoming biomethane PoS is captured and validated automatically. Conversion is applied per your configured LHV factor and loss assumption. Output is linked back to the source. Full traceability through the transformation, whether the liquefaction is physical or virtual.

  2. Mass balance per capacity holder.

Multiple capacity holders share the terminal. The platform tracks the position per capacity holder, per scheme, with their own outgoing PoS records. No reconciliation between holder-managed spreadsheets at month-end.

  3. Manual coordination, automated.

Incoming PoS validation, conversion math, mass balance updates, outgoing PoS generation: all automated. The platform takes the manual work that lives in email and Excel today and puts it in one ledger. Faster turnaround per transaction, fewer errors, audit-ready by default.

LNG terminal capabilities

Built for bio-LNG terminals and the capacity holders who depend on accurate, auditable conversion records.

  • Incoming biomethane PoS administration and validation (ISCC EU, REDcert)
  • Conversion logic with configurable LHV factor and loss assumptions
  • Support for both virtual and physical liquefaction flows
  • Mass balance per capacity holder
  • Outgoing bio-LNG PoS generation per delivery, scheme-correct
  • Multi-scheme conversion (e.g. biomethane to bio-LNG across schemes)
  • Tolling and capacity holder allocation logic
  • Audit trail from incoming PoS through conversion to outgoing
  • API support for terminal management systems

Questions from LNG terminals and capacity holders

Yes. The compliance flow is the same in both cases: incoming biomethane PoS, conversion factor, outgoing bio-LNG PoS. The platform handles physical liquefaction terminals and virtual liquefaction models in the same workflow.
Common conversions like biomethane to bio-LNG are supported natively across schemes. The platform reads the source PoS, applies your conversion factor, and generates the outgoing PoS in the target scheme correctly.
Yes. Each capacity holder maintains a separate position, with their own outgoing PoS records per delivery.
The LHV factor and loss assumption are configured per terminal during onboarding and apply automatically to every incoming PoS. The output reflects actual losses, not a 1:1 conversion.
Yes, via our APIs. Standard terminal management system connections are configured during onboarding; custom integrations are available as Implementation Services.
